cryotherapy skin lesion removal
Effective in removal of warts, verrucae and more....
What is Cryotherapy?
.........................................................
Cryotherapy is the application of a super cold agent to an area of skin which causes the area to freeze (we use a liquid nitrogen pen device).
When skin cells are frozen in this way it causes damage to the inside and outside of the cells and causes them to burst and die.
The pen devices are very precise and only target the area we need to avoid damaging healthy skin.
Similar to when you cut / scrape your skin, a scab will form and new skin will grow underneath. The scab will fall off when the new skin is ready.
Cryotherapy is often successful with one treatment, but for larger areas, verrucas, warts or areas on thicker skin (feet / hands) it may be necessary to repeat the treatment after 4-6 weeks.

Can I have Cryotherapy?
..............................................
Almost anyone is suitable for Cryotherapy treatment, although there are occasions where we may have to take more care, such as:
Lower limbs where the skin is thin and healing can be impaired.
Areas where nerves are closer to the surface such as the fingers.
Around the face, as there are important nerves / veins and other structures underneath the skin.
People who are immunocompromised, or have other reasons for wounds to heal slower.
People with Reynaud's disease or neuropathic / arterial problems at the extremities
Unfortunately we cannot treat you if the following applies:
You are under 18.
You have a lesion which has been diagnosed as a malignant skin cancer.
You have a lesion which you are awaiting diagnostic treatment for except for skin tags, warts and verrucas
